It is the only remaining publication he knows of that does not accept electronic submissions - pretty much a dinosaur watching the pretty burning ball fall from the sky.Call me Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17704646008578216859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1050114170808386390.post-52124709402843808542012-05-26T08:36:47.447-04:002012-05-26T08:36:47.447-04:00I think that's a bogus argument. If they wanted, they could further curtail unwanted manuscripts through the requirement of papyrus or parchment written by a trained scribe.

What it demonstrates is a complete disregard for the environment.

What it demonstrates is rampant arrogance, otherwise known as hubris.Stephenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13559965680740096523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1050114170808386390.post-13925500424872112242012-05-26T00:07:23.931-04:002012-05-26T00:07:23.931-04:00I think the intent of the rule is simply to place ...I think the intent of the rule is simply to place a barrier to submissions. F&SF already gets more subscriptions than they can read - and a large proportion of them are not worth reading at all. Making it easier for writers to submit would probably worsen their signal to noise ratio significantly. If you want to submit a story to F&SF, you're going to have to jump through some hoops. Perhaps less dedicated writers won't bother.Call me Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17704646008578216859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1050114170808386390.post-78569044055129147592012-05-25T17:33:23.559-04:002012-05-25T17:33:23.559-04:00Perhaps. There's a collection of short fiction by Susan Forest soon to be released by Five Rivers I think fits this bill.

Would welcome any reading suggestions you might have.

I think, however, the main thrust of my post today was a poke at Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine.
